Urban Stitches - Melbourne

Last weekend was Urban Stitches - Melbourne and a couple of friends and I went along for a fun filled day of stitching.  We had a lovely time stitching, chatting, seeing all the samples and shopping at Under the Mulberry Tree & Winter Wood.  It was great to meet and talk to the designers Jodie Carleton (Ric Rac), Melanie McNeice (Melly & Me), Rosalie Quinlan (Rosalie Quinlan designs) and Simone Gooding (May Blossom) and be shown some great tips and techniques too.
We were given a fantastic bag of goodies including some lovely new designs by each of them - fully kitted plus Cosmo threads, needles, and a wonderful stitching book & magazine too.
Here are some photos of the designers displays - I just love everything and wish I had the time to make it all!

And here are samples of the patterns we were given.

A great day - thankyou Jenelle & Cindy for a lovely day out!  A big thankyou to the designers and Under the Mulberry Tree for putting on this wonderful day.

Happy sewing!
Jody

  1. Today, I went to the beach with my children.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4
year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

  2. Hey! I realize this is sort of off-topic however I needed to
ask. Does running a well-established website such as yours take a massive amount work?
I am completely new to operating a blog however I do write in my
journal daily. I'd like to start a blog so I can share my personal experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!
